Jaap Pieterse was born in Sasolburg, Freestate, South-Africa. He finished his studies at Pretoria Art Faculty, majoring in Sculpting and Fine Art Photography. After working as a photographer, mould maker, sculptor and leather stitcher, Jaap wanted to explore Cape town. He has found home in the Cape for 7 years, where he relived passion in working with a combination of Wood, Leather and Metal creating organic and contemporary furniture and functional art. He is an extraordinary designer with a very different eye to beauty. He started his own business 'Blugumtree' since 2007. As Jaap is a artist; each of his pieces are unique and a piece of art in itself. |
